Ge Jianyu considered himself to be the biggest Star Trek fan in all of China. He had even arranged the first ever national Xīngjì Lǚxíng convention in the vacant lot near his apartment complex. He had a costume made specially for the event.

The event, however, wasn’t the success he had hoped it would be. For one, the police turned up to enforce the anti-time travel by-law. As well, the other six people who bothered to attend had misunderstood his fliers and came because they thought he arranged walking tours to celebrities’ houses.
