Hán Xiāngpíng was sorely disappointed. She had paid three months’ salary for a guided tour of Ireland— her first proper holiday in five years!— and what she got for her money was a cursory walking tour of a few Irish pubs in Shanghai and a photo stop at a boutique which had one wall decorated with bathroom tiles in shamrock formation.

She wondered if such a thing as a Better Business Bureau existed here.
